One of my favorite NICU nurses challenged me to make helmets this year for Superbowl. I had no idea how I was going to do it but by the time the teams were announced I figured there was no way in hell I was going to disappoint her since the Packers had already broken her heart by not making it to the Superbowl!
The patterns are still in my head, aren't they all? Someday I'm going to have to sit down with my notebook where I do scribble a few things down and actually put patterns into the computer!
My one disappointment was not being able to crank out more of these hats. I got some kind of bug at the end of the week, the same time it was time to put together all the hats I'd knitted and finish them up but with a fever and knowing I was sick, I didn't want to risk knitting any germs into my little Little creations. I do wash all of the hats in hot water and dry them before sealing them into plastic baggies and taking them to the NICU but I couldn't take the chance. Oh well. That's some made for next year if either of the same teams make it.
I also made several of the football hats like last year.
The hats make for a festive Superbowl Sunday in the NICU.
