Preemie (S-M-L)
Materials:
Approx 1/2 oz Worsted Weight “soft” yarn in Yellow (Caron Simply Soft Sunshine)
1 oz Orange (Caron Simply Soft Persimmon) (the softer color in the photo)
Several yards White (Caron Simply Soft White)
Yarn needle
Needles: #8 or size to obtain gauge Double-pointed
Gauge:
In stockinette, 20 st x 24 rows = 4” square
With yellow, CO over 4 needles VERY loosely:
(35, 40, 45)
Row 1: Knit around, placing marker between last stitch of first row and first stitch of second
row.
Row 2: Purl around to marker
Repeat rows 1 and 2, three more times.
(Change to Orange.)
Change to stockinette stitch (knit all rows) and work until piece measures a total of 3 inches
Begin decreases:
Small Preemie skip to row 5.
Med
Preemie skip to row 3.
Large
Preeme start at row 1
Decrease:
Row 1: K 2 tog, K 7, repeat around to marker.(40)
Row 2: Knit around next row.
Row 3: K 2 tog, K 6, repeat around to marker. (35)
Row 4: Knit around next
row.
Row 5: K 2 tog, K 5, repeat around to marker..(30)
Row 6: Knit around next row.
Row 7: K 2 tog, K 4, repeat around to marker.

row
Row 9: K 2 tog, K 3 repeat around to marker
(20)
Change to white yarn:
Row 10: Knit around next row.
Row 11: K2 tog, K2, repeat around to marker (15)
Row 12: Knit around next row.
Row 13: K2 tog, K1, repeat around to marker. (10)
Row 14: Knit around next row.
Row 15: K 2 tog, repeat around to marker (5 st)
Cut long tail, thread onto yarn needle and draw tail through remaining stitches. Draw tight
and pull yarn through to underneath side to tie off, weaving yarn end into stitches inside
hat.
Candy Corn Mitts
Make 2.
With size 5 dpn and yellow yarn, CO (24, 32, 40)
Join in the round, place marker after last stitch casted on.
Knit all x 2 rounds
K2tog across round (12, 16, 20)
K1, P1, around
P1, K1 around
Repeat last 2 rows until 1.5”
Change to #7 dpn and orange yarn
K+1,K(2,3,4) repeat across round (16,20, 24)sts
Knit continuously until (2”, 2.5”, 3”)
Change to white yarn
Knit across round
K2tog, K(2,3,4)st: (12,16,20)
Knit across round
K2tog, K(1,2,3 )st: (8,12,16)
K2tog across st:(4,6,8)
K2tog across st:(2,3,4)
K2tog across st:(1,2,2) MP will have a single stitch to knit alone at end of the row.
SP skip to end
K2tog across st:( -,1,1)
MP skip to end
K2tog across st:(-,-,-)
Cut tail, draw through last stitch, and weave ends into
underneath side of mitt.
