Hy-Vee Grocery Contest: Duct Tape Creations

Grocery store Hy-Vee is having a spring contest of making something, anything, out of duct tape. There are several entries, including a couple of cutel little kids that are in the lead in clothing much more simple than the work these two had to have gone to.  Don't know what the winners will receive, of course, vote for what YOU think is the coolest, but for me, I think these two not only had a really clever and original idea: not just a shirt or simple skirt, but a very complicated PROM Dress and and 3-piece Tux that they themselves (not their parents) executed flawlessly and without being campy.  That dress is gorgeous and very classy. I can't imagine how many hours they put into designing and making that themselves. Wow.  A huge round of applause to you two!

World's Largest Edible Scene: Halloween Haunted House

 This video is almost 10 minutes long, but for cake decorators it's absolutely amazing.  75 cake decorators, 48 hours, 1,000 lbs of cake, and 3,000 lbs of fondant to complete at the Oklahoma State Fair Grounds this past October 4-5, 2010.

 

 

There's a Reason it's a Cliche

 

Due in January, very pregnant Ashley's dinner the other night at work.  She said "It just all looked good to me!"  Uh huh.  There's a reason behind the cliche. No ice cream, but biscuits and sausage gravy, dill pickles, and a fried mozzarella stick with marinara sauce.  This baby is going to be soooooo confused but very adventurous with food!
