Mmmm.....nothing like soup in the winter to warm you up! This one from Whole Foods Market is easy to make, very close to the soup I grew up with Mom making, and the house smells delicous all afternoon as the soup simmers in the crockpot. Crockpot--even better--so easy!
Perfect for my lunchbox with a couple of pieces of cornbread.

I just made pea soup on the weekend :o) I checked out your blog for a recipe first, lol. I couldn't find split peas at walmart so I used whole yellow ones. I made the broth first with the ham bone, then cut all the meat off of it and put it into the broth, then added 2 onions, 3 celery ribs, some garlic, and s&p. It took a couple hours to get the peas tender enough, but it still wasn't the yummy soup I know. So I poured the entire concoction into a big huge bowl and did small batches in the blender to get the consistency I wanted. I was sooo pleased with the outcome :o) I had to freeze most of it though or else I would have eaten it all, lol. So now I have 1.5 cup servings in my freezer to take for lunch to work. OMG seriously good!

Split Pea Soup is one of my all-time favorites! I remember when my mom used to make it and I was the only kid who would touch it, and I still make it all the time. Looks delicious!
