Favorite Food/Kitchen Gadget

Favouritekitchengadgetsl_1

Pamela, over at Posie's Place has created her first blogging event for Favorite Kitchen Gadgets and will be posting a round-up of everyone's faves right after September 10th.  Love her idea for this event. We all have our favorite tools, gadgets, and appliances that we can't live without. It will be fun to see what "things" we've all become attached to over the years.

This is a great chance for me to drool and give a great big hug and plug to Black and Decker for creating the mini food processor, or food chopper as they call it:

I love this little beauty.  Technically an appliance, rather than a gadget, but I don't care. It's my favorite thing in the kitchen.  It's my favorite wedding gift I received that is still working 15 years later (!).  It's the gift I automatically gift to every bride I receive wedding invitations for, etc. I cannot sing it's praises loudly enough. I like my big regular food processor but it's a pain to drag out and clean up, especially for small jobs like a bit of carrot, to chop an onion, or a handful of nuts, or whatever I need to be fast and uniformly minced.  This does the trick and you can put the blade and the 1 1/2 cup bowl in the dishwasher.  How's that for easy?  You can also buy it at any general merchandise store and it's under $30.00.  That all adds up to "gotta have one" in my book.

Oh yes, I love my mini-chopper, too. It's great for making hummus.

I agree as well. For some things, you have to have the little chopper. 15 years old! Well made, that's for sure.

I agree-mine is 20 years old-got it for a wedding present-that little baby rocks.

So glad to hear that it's popular with other people too, and that they've held up so well. Most things we own haven't, you know, but that little chopper rocks.
