My continuing adventures in knitting for our local NICU, creating special holiday hats (and more!) for our little Littles in celebration of the major holidays and for their parents to take home as souvenirs.
Last Christmas a NICU Mom brought in a Christmas themed baby cocoon to have her baby photographed. So popular with our staff, several folks have mentioned it to me and I love the idea too!
Starting in a neutral tone, I'm currently working up patterns for simple to more complex cocoon/cuddler/sleep sacques to match the hats, booties, and mitts we've all been working on. I'm planning to roll out our first cocoons this Christmas for ultra cool glam baby pics. Our babies deserve the very cutest in couture wear. Grin.
Knitting for the NICU Knitting Group Suzanne, Jordan, Sydney, Kisha, Shelly, and Yung for being intrepid enough to learn new techniques and give of their time and hearts to this project!
Gene aka The Hubby Who makes suggestions, appreciates my efforts, and who said when seeing the turkey butt hat for the first time "You are so perverse. Those poor babies don't know what they've gotten in to." But he laughed while he said it so I think it was a compliment.
